Studios, Not Classrooms
Mixed-age studios that work like the real world. Because that's where your child will live.
Studios, Not Classrooms
Flourish operates four mixed-age studios, not traditional classrooms. Mixed-age learning mirrors real-world environments where people of different ages work together naturally.
Our Four Studios:
Spark Studio (Ages 3 to 7)
Montessori and play-based learning for early learners.
Elementary Studio (Ages 6 to 11)
Core academic foundation with hands-on exploration.
MS Studio (Ages 10 to 14)
Critical thinking and deeper subject investigation.
Launchpad Studio (Ages 14 to 18)
Real-world preparation and independent project work.
Each studio creates collaboration across age groups. Younger students learn from older peers. Older learners reinforce their knowledge by teaching younger ones. This isn't theory—it's how learning happens in the real world.
Spark (Montessori) Studio
Ages: 3 to 7 Years
Timings: 9 AM to 1 PM
What We Do:
Build independence through Montessori methods designed for developing minds and bodies.
Create learners who actually want to learn through hands-on work and purposeful play.
Prepare children for real challenges using the Hero's Journey philosophy.
A Day in the Life of the Spark Studio
Your child enters a space built for movement and discovery.
No desks in rows. No forced sitting.
Morning: Montessori Work Cycles
Children choose meaningful work from activities throughout the studio. They move freely within clear boundaries—the same balance they'll need in life.
Afternoon: Spark Play
Outdoor exploration with real materials. Children build, garden, and investigate. Some construct elaborate structures. Others harvest vegetables or hunt for insects. Their choice, their discovery.
Every day balances structure with freedom. Spark Eagles learn to direct themselves while meeting real academic challenges. This isn't babysitting—it's preparation for life.
Elementary Studio
Ages: 6 to 11 Years
Timings: 8:30 AM to 1:45 PM
What We Do:
Build self-aware, independent learners through reflection and clear boundaries.
Create lifelong learners through intentional educational design.
Spark curiosity with real challenges across multiple disciplines.
A Day in the Life of the Elementary Studio
If you ever have a chance to walk into Elementary Studio, you won't see traditional classroom chaos. You'll see intentionality and young people in charge of their own learning.
Daily Structure
Learners set their own learning goals each morning. They tackle self-paced academic work based on personal objectives and join team projects that cross subject boundaries. Our projects run in six-week cycles—enough time for deep work, not endless busy work.
Real Learning Spaces
Learners aren't trapped at desks. They read on the patio, experiment in the garden, collaborate in common areas, cook in the kitchen, or focus on independent work wherever they learn best.
Socratic Discussions
Regular discussions on current events, science, heroes, literature—topics that matter. Learners learn to think critically and defend their ideas.
This studio prepares young people to own their learning and make real decisions. Skills they'll actually use.
MS Studio
Ages: 10 to 14 Years
Timings: 8:30 AM to 3 PM
What We Do:
Develop individual passions through rigour and uncompromising integrity.
Build critical thinking and clear writing—skills that separate leaders from followers.
Help learners discover their calling through real-world apprenticeships.
A Day in the Life of the MS Studio
Middle School Studio operates on depth, not breadth. Learners engage in serious work that matters.
Daily Structure
Multiple Socratic discussions where learners wrestle with difficult decisions and defend their reasoning. Ninety minutes of focused core skills and challenging literature.
The remainder is spent on hands-on Projects and Genre writing assignments that demand excellence.
Real-World Learning
Learners regularly visit local businesses for fieldwork. They mentor Elementary Studio learners, taking genuine responsibility for younger peers' growth.
Civilization
Learners step into the shoes of historical leaders facing critical decisions. They analyze pivotal moments and determine what they would do differently. No memorizing dates—real leadership thinking.
Peer Review Culture
Learners read and critique each other's work daily. They push each other toward excellence, not participation. Mediocre work gets called out and improved.
This studio builds young people who think independently, work rigorously, and take responsibility for results.
Launchpad Studio
Ages: 14 to 18 Years
Beginning shortly. Please get in touch if you are interested.
What We Do:
Prepare young adults for real-world success through self-directed learning and professional experience.
Build character and values that guide decision-making under pressure.
Help learners discover their calling and develop the skills to pursue it relentlessly.
A Day in the Life of the Launchpad Studio
Launchpad isn't high school. It's professional preparation.
Real-World Immersion
Learners work directly with professionals through apprenticeships and service projects. They see how businesses operate, how decisions get made, and what excellence actually looks like in practice.
Self-Directed Planning
From day one, learners create their own four-year plan. College track, entrepreneurship, skilled trades—whatever aligns with their goals. They own their choices and the consequences.
Character Development
Academic skills matter, but character determines success. Learners develop the virtues and decision-making frameworks they'll need when facing real challenges without adult supervision.
The Launchpad Promise
Every day, learners pursue their deepest interests while exploring new possibilities. They're not just preparing for the world—they're preparing to change it.
This studio produces young adults ready to lead, create, and take responsibility for their impact on the world.
