SCHOOLS TODAY ARE UTTERLY BROKEN
18th-century systems preparing children for a world that’s already moved on
What is Flourish?
We started Flourish in 2021 as parents who couldn’t find the kind of education we truly wanted for our children — one that values curiosity over compliance, and purpose over pressure.
Flourish is a learner-driven, mixed-age, learning program based in Pune. We are part of the Acton Academy network (Austin, Texas), a global movement of micro-schools designed for the 21st century — where learners take ownership of their journey and discover how to think, not what to think.
Our campus, nestled in the green neighbourhood of Sopan Baug, is home to children aged 3 to 14 and will grow with them through high school. We are accredited by the International Association of Learner-Driven Schools (IALDS), and families may choose to pursue NIOS, Cambridge, or Maharashtra State Board pathways as private candidates.
At Flourish, there are no report cards, no rigid classrooms, and no top-down teaching. Just real learning, real responsibility, and a community that believes children are far more capable than they’re given credit for.
If that sounds like the kind of place you’ve been looking for — welcome.
What Our Families are saying
How is Flourish different?
A common sense approach to learning.
If it does not make sense in today’s world, we don’t do it.
No Exams.
Learners show mastery through real work and public exhibitions every 6 weeks.
Mixed-age studios.
We don’t live or work in age-based silos. Why should learning be any different?
One size does not fit all.
Every learner at Flourish is on their own journey and works at their own pace.
No textbooks, lectures and blackboards.
Hands-on, project-based, technology-enabled, and self-driven — like in the real world.
No Homework.
Learners spend evenings mastering music, training in sports, and building things.
Mastery prevents gaps in foundations.
You’re either at 0% or 100% — no partial credit, or fuzzy grades.
We do hard things.
Mastery takes struggle. At Flourish, learners build grit, patience, and the habit of showing up — especially when it’s tough.
